Positioning Grid & Analysis (Click Me)

Publicity Kit (Click Me) Elevator Pitch Podcast (Click Me)

I am excited to announce that I will be giving a professional presentation on July 24th at Yancey Management’s office in Charlotte, NC. I will be presenting to a group of local business owners and professionals who share the building with Yancey Management, which gives me a great opportunity to introduce Anthony Mendez Analytics to an audience of real potential clients. The presentation will cover what marketing analytics is, why it matters for small businesses, and how my services can help business owners finally understand what their marketing data is telling them. I plan to walk through real examples of common problems like broken tracking, unattributed ad spend, and unclear reporting, and show how Anthony Mendez Analytics solves those problems at a fraction of what agencies charge. I am looking forward to connecting with the group and having some real conversations about how data can help their businesses grow.

Is Your Marketing Budget
Actually Working?
Most small business owners are running ads, paying for a website, and posting on social media — with no idea which of those things is actually driving revenue. Find out in 30 minutes, for free.
No credit card. No commitment. Just answers.

You’re spending money on marketing every month. Google ads. Facebook ads. Maybe a marketing agency. But when someone asks “what’s actually working?” — you’re not sure.

That’s not your fault. Marketing data is messy, confusing, and most agencies don’t explain it in plain English. They just send you a report full of numbers that don’t tell you what to do next.

That changes today.

  • A clear picture of which marketing channels are actually driving results for your business
  • An honest assessment of where your budget is being wasted right now
  • At least 2–3 specific, actionable things you can fix immediately
  • A straightforward explanation of what your data is actually telling you
  • No upsell pressure — just real, useful insight

5 Signs Your Marketing Data
Is Broken
A plain-English checklist for small business owners who want to know if their marketing is actually working.

Most small businesses have been collecting marketing data for years without realizing it’s inaccurate, incomplete, or completely misleading. Here are the 5 most common warning signs — and what each one means for your business.

1
You can’t tell which ad drove which sale
If you’re running ads on Google, Facebook, or anywhere else and can’t trace a specific sale or lead back to a specific campaign, your attribution is broken. You’re flying blind on every dollar you spend.
What it costs you: budget wasted on underperforming channels
2
Your Google Analytics shows zero conversions
If your analytics platform shows little to no conversions — phone calls, form fills, purchases — it almost certainly means your conversion tracking isn’t set up correctly. The data is there, you just can’t see it.
What it costs you: decisions made on incomplete data
3
Your agency sends reports you don’t understand
If you receive a monthly report full of impressions, click-through rates, and CPMs but have no idea whether the campaign is working — that’s a problem. Marketing data should answer questions, not create them.
What it costs you: money paid for results you can’t verify
4
Your website traffic is up but leads are flat
Traffic without conversions means something is broken — either the wrong people are landing on your site, your tracking is off, or your site isn’t converting. Without proper analytics you’ll never know which one it is.
What it costs you: SEO and ad spend with no return
5
You’re making marketing decisions based on gut feel
If your answer to “why did you choose that channel?” is “it seemed like a good idea” — you don’t have a data problem, you have a measurement problem. The data exists, you just aren’t using it yet.
What it costs you: opportunity and competitive advantage

Overview

To test my direct response marketing tool I shared the Step 1 landing page with a small group of people who fit my ideal client profile. This included my brother and his colleagues at Epona as well as several coworkers at my current workplace. All of them are either small business owners or work closely with small business marketing decisions so they were a good fit for this kind of feedback.

What I Tested

Step 1 was a landing page with the headline “Is Your Marketing Budget Actually Working?” It included copy addressing the pain points of small business owners who spend money on marketing but have no idea what is actually driving results. The call to action was a free 30-minute screening call.

Step 2 was what someone would receive after signing up. It included a welcome email confirming the call and a free checklist called “5 Signs Your Marketing Data Is Broken” which walks small business owners through the most common signs that their marketing tracking is off and what to do about it.

Feedback I Received

The most common piece of feedback was that the landing page felt minimal and clean. Most people saw that as a positive. They said it felt professional and easy to read without being overwhelming. That was encouraging because the whole point of Anthony Mendez Analytics is to make complicated data feel simple, so having the landing page reflect that same idea felt like a win.

The main constructive feedback was that parts of the page felt a little too salesy. A few people said some of the copy sounded more like a hard pitch than a genuine offer of help. That is something worth fixing because the brand is supposed to feel trustworthy and straightforward, not pushy.

On the positive side, one person specifically said the free screening call offer felt low pressure and compelling. That is exactly what it was designed to do, so that feedback was really good to hear.

What I Learned

The biggest takeaway was that tone matters a lot more than I expected. The visual design landed well but some of the copy was working against the brand. For a consulting business that is positioning itself as the honest, no-nonsense alternative to big agencies, the marketing has to feel that way too. If it sounds like a pitch people are going to tune it out.

I also learned that the free resource in Step 2 was a smart move. People liked having something useful to walk away with right away rather than just a confirmation email. It made the offer feel more generous and less transactional.

Next Steps

I plan to go back and rewrite some of the landing page copy to make it feel more conversational and less sales-heavy. The overall structure of the two-step tool worked well so I am keeping that. I just want the tone to better match the brand, something that feels helpful and direct rather than pushy.

Professional Presentation Reflection

On July 24th, I had the opportunity to present Anthony Mendez Analytics to a group of local business owners and professionals at Yancey Management’s office in Charlotte, NC. It was my first time presenting my business concept to a real audience of potential clients and it was an experience I will not forget.Overall the presentation went well. The group was engaged and receptive, and I received positive feedback from Emily Godwin and her team at Yancey Management. It felt great to talk about something I am genuinely passionate about and to see people connect with the problems I described like broken tracking, unclear reporting, and not knowing which ads are actually working. That said, I walked away knowing there is room to grow. Public speaking is a skill and I recognized in the moment that I need to work on projecting more confidence when I am in front of a room. I know the material inside and out but translating that into a commanding, natural delivery takes practice. Going forward I plan to seek out more speaking opportunities so I can keep building that muscle. This assignment pushed me outside of my comfort zone in the best way. Getting in front of real potential clients made everything feel more real and gave me a clearer picture of what it actually takes to promote a business. I would absolutely do it again and I am already thinking about how to make the next one even better.
